THE HARDEST CLIMB – BIG UP PRODUCTIONS

Sea to Sky Cam crew was on assignment in Spain winter 2011 working with Big Up Productions to capture the first ascent of the Worlds hardest sport climb at 5.15c. Chris Sharma has been the undisputed king of sport climbing for 15 years. Chris isn’t alone in his quest, 19 year old wonder kid, Adam Ondra has set his sights to climb Chris’s project La Dura Dura and be the first to climb 5.15c. The route is an extremely powerful, slightly overhanging 175 foot sport climb at the super crag Oliana in the Catalunya region of Spain. We set up the vertical cable cam in 7 locations over the ensuing weeks to capture the climbing from all angles of these top climbers while they battle it out on the route. Shooting only 4 feet away, the Sea to Sky Cam was able to creep up the wall directly beside the climbers while they screamed their way through the tortuous moves. The film will be shown at the Reel Rock Tour 8 which went on tour in October 2012.
